Compagnie Minière de Touissit: CMT
"CMT" is the 2nd largest private Moroccan mining group, quoted on the Casablanca Stock Exchange since 2008.
The company is specialized in the exploration, extraction and treatment of lead bearing silver and zinc ores.
Created in 1974, the company took over the mining assets of the CRAM in the east of Morocco.
CMT exploits, in the Southeast of Fes, an underground mine employing 300 people and producing approximately 28 000 tons of concentrated lead bearing silver ore and 5 000 tons of zinc concentrate. The subsequent mineral products are sold on the international market.
CMT current exploits a multi mineral ore deposit close to Tighza ( Middle Atlas), where it possesses a processing plant which produces lead concentrate as well as zinc.
CMT also launched the exploration of gold bearing quartz veins near the Tighza mine.
